How the numbers work. Costs are typical US ranges or averages for cats in 2026: urinary blockage and lily poisoning are full-visit ranges; string, oxygen and bladder-stone figures are average procedure costs, and the exam or hospital stay may be extra. Your share uses each plan's deductible, reimbursement rate, deductible order and annual limit. The fund target is the larger of your share of the bill or the deposit you may need to pay up front (up to the low end of the estimate), plus 25% for cats aged 10 and over. Most insurers reimburse after you pay the clinic, so a credit card or financing may also be needed to bridge the full bill.
